ECU Joondalup host Inglewood United in week 14 of the All flags Premier League on Saturday at the ECU Arena. (3pm)

The home side are coming off the bye and the NTC game last week, where assistant coach Andy Petterson gave a number of younger players in the squad some game time.

Their last league outing saw ECU turn their season around with a 3-2 win against Floreat Athena and Coach Syd Amphlett is hoping for more of the same on Saturday. “The short break, although not welcomed at the time has helped certain players get over niggling injuries and everyone came back in this week and trained extremely hard. It does mean we also have a full squad to pick from for the first time in several weeks,” said Amphlett.

“The players have trained for three nights this week and their commitment and attitude has been excellent so let’s hope they are rewarded for their hard work on Saturday. Every game is massive in this league and Saturday is no exception. Inglewood has had a tremendous run since we beat them in the first game of the season.”

After resting a number of first team players from last week’s 1-2 defeat against The NTC, Amphlett will have a few selection headaches as he has a full squad to choose from.

Inglewood United Coach Shane Pryce made some quality additions to his squad this season. David McNally slots neatly into a defensive unit marshalled by veteran Darko Ilmanoski and goalkeeper Oliver Taseski, while in midfield former ECU James Sammut compliments Ryan Clarke and Sandi Loncar and provides ammunition for striker Rory Grant and talented youngster Ndumba Makeche , while former Perth Glory striker Adrian Caceres has re-joined.

They head to the Arena in a rich vein of form, and despite last week’s 2-3 defeat at home to Floreat Athena they had one their past six games moving the Wood into third place on the table
