ECU Joondalup take on All Flags Premier League leaders Balcatta on Saturday at Grindleford Reserve (3pm)

They are coming off a two straight victories against Floreat Athena and Inglewood United and Coach Syd Amphlett hopes his side can continue their good form against the league leaders. “We’re all looking forward to the game and looking forward to continue our two match unbeaten run.

“The attitude of the players is first class, but we will be a bit light this week with Scott Blackmore, and Chris Whylie missing through injury and Ian McMurray is unavailable,” said Amphlett.

Ross Laing comes in for Whylie, while Dale McCulloch, Andy Banks and Charlie Comyn-Platt will be vital for ECU, and John Thornley and Matt Italiano continue to perform well.

Balcatta are on home soil for the second week running and Lewis Italiano has shown himself to be a ‘keeper of great quality in his breakthrough season as Stephen Burton and Ashley Rosindale toy with opposing defences at the other end of the park. Balcatta coach Michael Roki has brought in a number of players this season with John Migas, Moe Atak and Jason Barrera, all impressing in their first season.
