ECU Joondalup will look to get back in the winner’s circle on the weekend when they entertain Michael Brazil’s Mandurah City in week eight of the All Flags Premier League at The ECU Campus Arena on Saturday (3pm).

Senior Coach Syd Amphlett is looking for an improvement from the 0-1 defeat at Perth SC last time out. “We are looking to bounce back from a couple of defeats, but anyone who has seen the last two games cannot fault us for effort and last week we dominated large parts of the game without just rewards,” said Amphlett.

“The players continue to train hard and their attitude has been great, and we haven’t had the rub of the green in recent games, so with a bit of luck we can get three points on Saturday and get the season on track.”

In team news ECU will be missing skipper Dale McCulloch and Scott Blackmore through suspension, and Oliver McGee, who has returned to First Division side Bunbury Forum Force. They do welcome back Ross Anderson for his first home game today after his transfer from Stirling Lions last week, while Ryan McDarby is available again after suspension and Jake Benson-Cooper returns from a short break.

Mandurah City are coming off a 1-1 draw against Bayswater City last week, but after a bright start have slipped away in recent weeks. But saying that, they have beaten league leaders Balcatta and Perth SC on the road this season, so they can’t be taken lightly.  In team news for the Dolphins, skipper Andy Brown has left the club and joined Stirling Lions, and keeper Phil Straker has left for work commitments. Jeff Bright returns to their squad this week after missing two games due to suspension, while Tommy jones and Darren Broxton will be relishing a return to their former club.
