It’s also the final game as coach of Syd Amphlett and he’s looking forward to the game. “I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the support I have received during my 3 seasons as ECU coach,” said Amphlett.

“Special thanks must go to Reserve coach Dave Tough, who gave me 100% and in return, he gave us two Cup winners and two League runners up. A great achievement!

“Many thanks also to Andy Petterson, Ian Gillan, Willie McNally and Gary Church, who have all given great service to the club and me, and hopefully I will still be around next year to help as we move into a new era with a great new club house and further development of the Academy.

“Despite many players now being pulled away from the clubs with numerous other opportunities, including NTC and Glory Youth, we will still continue to develop fantastic players and looking at the Academy are top in U12, U13, U14 and U15 age groups. Added to that the U18 and Reserves both came runners up. What an achievement!!!”

It’s been a difficult season for Kenny Lowe and the NTC youngsters, but they have improved greatly from the start of the season and they beat ECU in the first fixture in May. So the home side will be looking to change that on Saturday and send their coach off with a win.
