ECU started the brighter and were the better side in the first half, playing some confident football and creating chances. After7 minutes, they were ahead when Harley Curran swung in an excellent free kick, which eluded everyone to nestle into the far corner of the net. Three minutes later, Louie Robinson found Tom Eijgenhuijsen in midfield, he advance a few strides and let fly with a magnificent strike from outside the area, the ball flying into the top corner. It had been one sided, Perth’s only shot of the half came after 18 minutes and went harmlessly wide.

A good end of the season for the boys, especially as for some of them, it was their last game for the club, Perth also have a number of their boys moving on to other things. Perth were the best and most consistent team all season and deserved to be champions and cup winners but by defeating their two closest rivals in Fremantle and Perth, ECU deserved to win the play offs.

A big thanks to the coaches John and Chris and to the manager, Maree, for all their efforts this season.
