ECU Joondalup 2-3 Rockingham – Sunday 18th August

ECU under 13’s suffered their third consecutive league defeat when they beaten by a physical Rockingham side at ECU campus. The home side got off to a terrible start, the visitors scoring a goal which was a long way offside after just 4 minutes. The hosts settled well though and created good chances. Declan Hudson’s shot was saved from an Oliver Ford pass, Harley Curran played in Liam Hudson whose shot was also saved. The equaliser was on the cards and it came when a free kick was not cleared properly and Liam H scored. Minutes later, a Liam H pass was finished off by Luke Salmon to give ECU a half time lead.

Within 2 minutes of the restart, the visitors had equalised when the home defence failed to clear and then a long range free kick ended up in the net to give the visitors the lead. ECU looked drained of confidence but Brad Jordan nearly equalised when his shot was well saved.

The under 13’s are low on confidence and the opposition lately look like they have more desire to win matches. A two week break hopefully will help the boys get re focussed and discover some form going into the play off finals.
