Subiaco 0-4 ECU Joondalup – Sunday 1st September

After a poor run of results, ECU under 13’s returned to winning ways with a comprehensive display against Subiaco. The first half was scoreless but the visitors created enough opportunities to take a lead into the break. Firstly Tom E shot across the face of the goal after a fine run, Oliver Ford then turned and shot and forced the home keeper into a decent save and Ethan Kerridge hit the post with a free kick. Subiaco’s only threat came on the break, when a brilliant piece of defending by Lewis Robinson prevented the home side scoring.

The second half started well for the visitors, Tom E stabbing home from close range and then it was 2-0 when Kieron Craig’s shot was deflected in by Ethan K, again from close range. ECU was now playing with confidence and scored a superb team goal to make it three. Oliver F won the ball in midfield, powered forward and released Kieron C down the right flank, without breaking stride; he crossed hard and low into the penalty box for Brad Jordan to finish neatly at the far post. The fourth goal came when a corner was not cleared and Kieran Coyne forced the ball home.

A good victory and a confident display which bodes well with just two games left before the play off finals campaign begins.
