ECU Joondalup  3-2  Cockburn – Sunday 15th September

ECU under 13’s finished the season with a victory over Cockburn and after a sticky run a few weeks ago, they ended the season with three consecutive victories to, hopefully, boost heir confidence going into the finals series. The hosts started well and played some good football in the first half and went into the break with a 3-0 lead. Firstly, Kieron Craig was on the end of ta Harley Curran cross to score the opener after 9 minutes, Tom Eijgenhuijsen then supplied a through ball for Liam Hudson, whose low cross was again converted by Kieron C and then on 24 minutes, Kieron C completed his hat trick from another pass from Harley C.

Half Time – ECU Joondalup  3-0  Cockburn

The second half in contrast was disappointing and was generally scrappy with the visitors raising their game and the hosts dropping theirs. Cockburn had a couple of chances before they did score, a shot from long range was eventually put away on a rebound. Brad Jordan then shot over for ECU but it was the away team that scored again after a quick breakaway to make it 3-2. Cockburn could have equalised with the last kick of the game when a shot came crashing back off the cross bar.
