Sunday 12th May – ECU Joondalup  2-0  Bayswater City – Premier Division

Photo – Kieran Coyne in action – ECU under 13’s won their 4th consecutive match with a comfortable victory over Bayswater City. The hosts were off to the perfect start when they were ahead after just two minutes when after a very good team build up, Kieron Craig finished in style in a similar fashion to his opening goal a week earlier against Balcatta. It was 2-0 on ten minutes, a deep corner by Kieron Craig was headed into the roof of the net by Oliver Ford. Apart from a couple of dangerous breaks, the visitors were not really in the game and a half time lead for ECU was a fair reflection of the play.

The second half saw ECU in total control but they could not add to their two early goals despite creating a number of opportunities. Luke Salmon hit the side netting from a good position, James Lawless had a shot saved after a great run by Declan Hudson, Brad Jordan forced another good save by the Bayswater keeper were just some of the many chances the home team created.

ECU played some good football and knocked it around with a level of confidence. The victory should have been by a bigger margin but they will be pleased with not conceding again, a good habit to get into.
