U10s OSSF North Orange League – JCFC U10s (1) v ECU U9s (2) – Sun22Apr12 Match Report  by Plinio Bresciani

Well, our Under 9 Boys got their first taste of how tough it’s going to be playing in the U10 league. With the game evenly balanced, Daniel opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a great goal from the left.

Our boys worked hard in defense and midfield and the JCFC goal keeper pulled off two great saves from shots from Harry and then Massimo.

In the 20th minute, JCFC managed to pull a goal back in probably their only real chance of scoring in the first half.

The second half started the same as the first, very intense, with defenders and midfielders from both sides battling it out and in the 10th minute, ECU almost got their second goal when Daniel shot just wide of the left post.

Dylan shot just wide of the right post in the 15th minute shortly after having taken a hard knock a couple of minutes earlier. Unfortunately Dylan took another bad knock a few minutes later and had to be carried off by Mum.

ECU’s second goal came in the 18th minute when a ball from the right found Daniel unmarked 10 yards out from the goals. He turned on the ball and slotted it past the keeper into the back of the net.

Overall ECU deserved a hard fought 2-1 win, not having given too much away at the back with Joe, Ben, Euan, Lewis and Matthew working hard in defense and Euan (Ist half) & Ben (2nd half) rarely tested in goals.

Well Done Boys and good luck for next week’s game against Stirling Lions!!!
