Under 12′s Defeat Bunbury

ECU 5-0  Bunbury Forum - Junior League 12 Div 2 – Sunday 6th May ECU under 12′s continued their impressive start to the season with a good win over Bunbury Forum. Leading into this match, both sides sat at the top of the ladder, having both won three games out of three this season so this match was always going to be a sterner test than some of the recent encounters. ECU started the brighter and after 5 minutes, Oliver Ford hit the bar from the edge of the area after good work by Harley Curran. Two minutes later, the same player hit the post from about the same distance and we began to wonder of it was going to be one of those days. Within a few minutes though, the home side took the lead. Good build up play by Harley and Tyler Uglow resulted in Kieron Craig (Right scoring his header) scoring with a sweet finish.

ECU were now playing some nice football, a great move involving Oliver and Tyler produced the same result when Kieron was, again on hand to head in the cross to make the score 2-0. Just before half time, Bunbury broke away and as their forward was just about to shoot, Kieran Coyne produced a great saving tackle to keep Bunbury scoreless at the interval.

Half Time – ECU  2-0  Bunbury

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with ECU playing some good football, creating chances and were generally comfortable in the game. Within a few minutes of the re start it was 3-0, Liam Hudson supplying a lovely cross for his brother, Declan Hudson to finish with confidence. The standard of the home sides finishing was of the highest order and goal number 4 was no exception when Oliver jinked his way just inside the penalty box to strike a superb shot into the corner. Soon after it was 5-0 when Harley was fouled in the area and he picked himself up to convert the penalty.

A good all-round display from the boys against a decent side who caused a few problems on the break.
