Inglewood  2-2  ECU – Sunday 24th June
ECU under 12’s managed to let Inglewood back into the game twice to share the points in an entertaining encounter. ECU started the brighter and created some chances but the home side hit the woodwork twice in the first half. ECU took the lead after 10 minutes when Oliver Ford passed through to Harley Curran who crossed for Liam Hudson to score from close range. Back came the home side to equalise after a quick break down the left flank. It was a very even contest as you would expect from two mid table teams, although to be fair to the away side, they have played four less games.

Half Time – Inglewood  1-1  ECU

The second half had a similar pattern, both sides creating chances and spurning them, ECU were slightly on top for the opening period and went back in front when again, Harley crossed, this time for Declan Hudson to score. The home team were then awarded a penalty, which even the home supporters were surprised at, but the spot kick was missed as the ball was blasted over the bar.

Inglewood were not to be denied as minutes later they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the ECU penalty box and it was despatched into the top corner to make the score 2-2. The home side were finishing the stronger and they were denied a winner when ECU goalkeeper, Ed Cook saved superbly (see attached picture) to secure a well deserved draw.

An entertaining match and the correct result, the boys will have to step it up next week though when they take on table toppers Perth at home (1st July).
