ECU 4   3 Ballajura – Round 7- Sunday 19th June

ECU starts the game with a goal in the first minute. Excellent work down the right wing between Harry and Trent whose combination tormented the Ballajura defence all day resulted in Etienne finishing nicely at the back post. ECU pushed forward and Morgan’s shot was just over.

ECU kept up the pressure and after good work through midfield Morgan was again close to scoring. The Ballajura team were finding it impossible to break the ECU defence with Evan putting in some great tackles and Aaron frequently stopping the Ballajura attack.

The Ballajura goal keeper was kept busy with close efforts by Ciaran, Morgan and Etienne.

ECU changed their attack with Charlie, Lennon and Ben replacing Ciaran, Trent and Etienne but the attacks kept coming. A superb cross by Harry was finished well by Charlie and it was 2-0.

Ballajura hit the post but posed little threat up front. Morgan was controlling the midfield with some excellent tackling. Kian was having a great game in goal and was only beaten by a freak goal just before half time.

ECU was unlucky not to be further ahead with Ben going close.

H-Time – ECU 2 Ballajura 1

The second half started in tense fashion with Ballajura hitting the post. Ben almost added another but was just wide. ECU wins a corner and with a great cross by Charlie, Trent shoots just over.

ECU was starting to find a good rhythm with quick passing from Lennon and Ciaran. ECU wins another corner and Lennon goes just wide with a great header. Kian had a great first half in goal and carried on in the second half with some good runs down the left.

Kian’s good work paid off when Ciaran finished off a great cross and ECU was 3-1 up. Ollie produced some great runs down the wing. Morgan was still keeping the Ballajura midfield at bay with his ferocious tackles. Lennon who was denied by the cross bar but then finished off another attack to put ECU 4 -1 up.

Ballajura scored two late goals. It was a close finish but ECU held on for a deserved 4-3 victory.
